Cyprus’ Industrial Production Index rose by 3.6% in the period January–December 2025 compared with the corresponding period of 2024, according to data released by CySTAT.
In December 2025, the index reached 113.0 units (base year 2021=100), recording an annual increase of 3.5%.
On a twelve-month basis, the most significant increases were observed in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products, which grew by 10.9%, the wood industry and the manufacture of products of wood and cork – excluding furniture – up 9.1%, the production of basic metals and fabricated metal products, which rose by 8.0%, and the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing activities and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment, which recorded a 7.2% increase.
In contrast, decreases in production compared with 2024 were recorded in the manufacture of paper and paper products and printing (-9.5%), the manufacture of textiles, wearing apparel and leather products (-3.8%), and electricity supply (-2.0%).
On a monthly basis, December maintained a positive trend, with manufacturing increasing by 4.6% compared with December 2024, while the water supply and materials recovery sector recorded a rise of 3.2%. Negative changes were observed in electricity supply (-2.4%) and in mining and quarrying (-1.7%).
Within manufacturing, the most notable annual increases in December were recorded in the manufacture of furniture, other manufacturing activities and the repair and installation of machinery and equipment (+13.8%), the wood industry and manufacture of products of wood and cork (+11.9%), and the manufacture of machinery and equipment, motor vehicles and other transport equipment (+8.1%). Declines were recorded only in the manufacture of other non-metallic mineral products (-7.4%) and in the manufacture of electronic and optical products and electrical equipment (-2.3%).
