Cyprus Forum Cities: Urban Policy at a Turning Point

The countdown has begun for the most important conference on local government in Cyprus. Oxygen for Democracy, the Limassol Municipality, and the Cyprus University of Technology are co-organizing Cyprus Forum Cities, which returns for its fourth consecutive year in Limassol on 24 April 2026.

The conference is held under the auspices of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU and is co-funded by the European Union.

During the forum, officials, local government leaders, technocrats from the public and private sectors, academia, and civil society — from both Cyprus and abroad — will engage in high-level discussions examining the critical challenges and opportunities shaping the urban environment across Cyprus and Europe. Discussions will focus, among other topics, on local government reform, sustainable mobility, the relationship between the European Union and cities, urban planning, and waste management.

Through high-level discussions and dialogue, the forum aims to promote cooperation, facilitate the exchange of best practices, and contribute to shaping the cities of the future.

More details, including the full programme and speakers, will be announced in the coming weeks on the conference’s official website:
