The High Level Group on Gender Mainstreaming will hold a two - day meeting in Nicosia from Monday, 16 February, in the framework of the Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU.
According to an official press release, the deliberations will begin in the afternoon of 16 February in the presence of Cypriot Minister of Justice and Public Order, Costas Fitiris, who will deliver a welcome address.
The High-Level Group on Gender Mainstreaming is a European Union Committee, chaired by the European Commission. It meets every six months to coordinate work on shaping the gender equality agenda in the EU.
It supports the rotating Presidencies in setting priorities in the field of gender equality and acts as the main forum for the strategic follow-up to the Beijing Platform for Action.
