Everything is in place for today’s Cyprus–India Business and Investment Summit in Mumbai, which marks a further decisive milestone in deepening economic and investment relations between the two countries.
With more than 400 registered participants and a large presence of business leaders from India and Cyprus, the conference, organised by IMH in collaboration with Invest Cyprus, confirms the significant dynamics of a relationship that is becoming increasingly strategic.
Cyprus is currently among the top ten investors in India, with cumulative investments of over €14 billion over the last 20 years within the broader context of strengthening EU-India economic ties. This is a long-term relationship, in which Cyprus is now claiming an active and upgraded role.
The Summit's central objective is to highlight Cyprus as an international business and investment center and also as a gateway to the European market for Indian companies seeking expansion in Europe.
The event will highlight Cyprus’ key comparative advantages, such as its combination of a high-quality workforce, efficient tax regimes and competitive business costs, underpinned by a stable common law legal system and its status as a member state of the European Union. These elements make Cyprus an ideal base for Indian companies looking to establish or expand their European operations.
Particular emphasis is also being placed on Cyprus' role as a strategic hub where entrepreneurship and quality of life coexist, as well as on the progressive policies implemented by the country — from tax incentives to talent attraction policies — which transform it into a launchpad for global growth.
At the same time, Cyprus operates as a reliable and proven platform for channeling Western investments to India, further strengthening its role as a bridge between the two markets and as an entry point for Indian businesses into the European market.
Cyprus’s role is also crucial due to its strategic geographical location in the eastern Mediterranean, making it a key pillar of the IMEC (India – Middle East–Europe Corridor), a visionary corridor connecting India, the Middle East and Europe. The country’s world-class ports and developed maritime and port infrastructure make Cyprus an ideal transshipment and logistics hub, enhancing the presence of Indian shipping and the interconnection of supply chains from East to West. Cyprus’s ties with the Commonwealth and its proximity to key shipping routes further enhance its attractiveness, reducing trade costs and increasing connectivity.
