PASYPE's Andreas Hadjiadamou: Supermarkets will open as normal this Saturday

The Executive Secretary of the Pancyprian Association of Supermarkets (PASYPE) says stores will not close tomorrow, Saturday, 17 January, even though the day has been declared a public holiday on the occasion of the funeral of former President of the Republic George Vassiliou.

Andreas Hadjiadamou told CNA that although the day has been designated by the Council of Ministers as a public holiday, "the private sector will work normally, as will supermarkets."

"There is no differentiation," he added, "employees will work normally, as they work on Saturday," and the legislation applicable to work on Saturday and Sunday will be applied.
