The number of registered unemployed fell by 3.9% in December on an annual basis, data released by CySTAT show.
More specefically, unemployed persons registered at the District Labour Offices on the last day of December 2025, reached 11,901 persons.
Based on the seasonally adjusted data which reflect the trend of unemployment, the number of registered unemployed for December 2025 decreased to 9,916 persons, in comparison to 10,013 in the previous month, CyStat said.
In comparison with December 2024, a decrease of 481 persons or 3.9% was recorded.
This decrease is mainly attributed to the sectors of construction, accommodation and food service activities, trade, manufacturing, as well as to the decrease recorded for newcomers in the labour market, the figures show.
