Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, will be in Nicosia on Wednesday, 7 January for the official launch of Cyprus’ Presidency of the Council of the EU.
As announced by the chief Commission spokesperson, following her visit to Paris on Tuesday, 6 January for the meeting of the Coalition of the Willing for Ukraine, von der Leyen will travel to Nicosia to mark the start of the presidency and then, on Thursday, 8 January to other countries in the wider region—Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.
