Interior Ministry issues clarifications on polling stations abroad ahead of parliamentary elections

Polling stations abroad in the upcoming parliamentary elections on 24 May, 2026, will operate for voters who are already registered on the electoral roll or who will register by 2 April, 2026, the Ministry of the Interior has announced.

As stated, to enable the operation of polling stations abroad, a special electoral roll is being compiled, to which the details of registered voters are transferred from the permanent electoral roll of Cyprus, following a relevant declaration submitted by the interested parties, in the context of the last quarterly revision of the electoral roll before the Elections, i.e. from 3 January, 2026, until 2 April, 2026.

It is added that, given that the current electoral legislation provides for the operation of polling stations abroad in cities for which at least thirty voters from each electoral district have expressed an interest, it is expected that polling stations will operate in Athens, Thessaloniki, Patras, London, Manchester, and Brussels.

The submission of a printed declaration to exercise the right to vote at a center abroad can be done either online via the website aps.elections.moi.gov.cy, or in printed form at the Embassies / Consulates of the Republic abroad, at the local Offices of the District Administrations, Citizen Service Centers, Citizen Centers of the Cyprus Post Office, and the Ministry of Interior, while printed forms can be obtained from the above locations and the Elections website www.elections.gov.cy, the statement concludes.
