The spirit of sportsmanship and holiday cheer took centre stage at the Chadjigeorgakis Kornesios Primary School, as the Kateryna Biloruska Foundation (KBF) in partnership with the Nicosia Multifunctional Municipal Centre hosted a Christmas Sports Tournament on Tuesday, 23 December, 2025.
The event served as a grand celebration for children who have been part of the Foundation’s sports programmes throughout the summer and autumn seasons of 2025, continuing up to next summer.
While the Foundation has reached over 350 children each month during its intensive sports sessions during the present year, this festive event brought together 120 young athletes for a day full of sports and celebration. The tournament highlighted one of the Foundation’s core pillars: using sports as a tool for social inclusion and healthy development.
A Day of Motion and Skill
The tournament featured a dynamic rotation of disciplines, showcasing the diverse skills the children developed over the past months. Participants were divided into teams, rotating through high-energy stations including Martial Arts, Athletics, and Break Dancing.
The atmosphere reached its peak during the Medal and Gift Ceremony, where every participant was recognised for their dedication and progress. The event was not a competition but a demonstration of how sports can unite a community and provide children with a sense of belonging and achievement before the holiday break. It was a celebration filled with fun, teamwork, and a Christmas spirit of joy, complete with festive presents for all participants.
