Consumer Protection Service recommends the use of e-kalathi for festive food purchases

The Consumer Protection Service (CPS) , in view of the food purchase for the Christmas festive season, calls on all consumers to proceed with their purchases with particular care and information, to trust the official information of the e-kalathi platform and to make use of it at every stage of the purchasing process.

e-Kalathi is an electronic service provided by the Consumer Protection Service of the Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry, which allows you to compare the prices of selected products (between different stores/supermarkets in Cyprus),either individually or as "baskets", i.e. sets of products and their quantities. e-kalathi is not an online store, therefore you cannot purchase/order products through it.

In a statement, the Service highlights the importance of systematically monitoring prices and comparing products, so that each household can choose the most advantageous solutions for the family budget.

It also notes that e-kalathi, as an official price recording and comparison tool, provides consumers with valid and transparent data that can be utilised to the maximum extent for more economical and more informed choices.
