With 38 votes in favour, the Plenary of the House of Representatives has approved amendments that adjust the distribution of parliamentary seats based on the updated electoral roll.
Following the integration of the supplementary electoral roll of 2 October 2025, Paphos gains one additional seat, increasing from four to five, while Nicosia decreases from twenty to nineteen, due to the variation in the number of registered voters.
During the debate, the Members of Parliament focused on institutional consistency, the need to respect the population ratio and the importance of automatic registration on the electoral rolls.
