AEGEAN and Hermes Airports celebrate the launch of direct Larnaca – Brussels flights

With a special event for passengers at Glafcos Clerides International Airport in Larnaca, AEGEAN, in collaboration with Hermes Airports, celebrated the launch of the new direct Larnaca - Brussels flight, which, which,  from 1 December, is directly connecting Cyprus with the capital of Belgium.

As noted in a press release, the direct Larnaca - Brussels air connection ensures direct access to a strategically important European destination, in view of the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU. For the month of December, AEGEAN will operate three direct flights on a weekly basis, while from 1 January to 30 June, 2026, the flights are scheduled to increase to five weekly.

"The launch of the new route is part of AEGEAN's broader development plan for 2026, which foresees, among other things, an 8% increase in capacity compared to 2025, with the seats offered to and from Cyprus totaling 1.5 million. This development underlines the strategic importance of the Cypriot market for the company and confirms its commitment to continuously strengthening the island's connectivity," the press release notes.

In her greeting, Maria Kouroupi, Director of Aviation Development, Marketing and Communication of Hermes Airports, noted, "The launch of the new direct Larnaca-Brussels connection is another important step towards strengthening the connectivity of Cyprus. This specific route will serve the needs of the Cyprus European Presidency, but also a timeless request for a direct connection with the capital of Europe. On our part, we look forward to close cooperation with all the stakeholders involved, so that Cyprus is dynamically promoted to the Belgian public and the direct route is successfully maintained after 2026."

For AEGEAN, Cyprus has long been one of the most important pillars of its activity, with the company offering a stable connection to the island with direct scheduled and charter flights via its main hubs in Athens and Thessaloniki. In this context, the company has relaunched from 2 December the direct route to Heraklion with two weekly flights, while continuing to offer up to seven daily flights to Athens, up to seven weekly flights to Thessaloniki and up to eight weekly flights to Tel Aviv.
