The Association of Electronic Money and Payment Institutions (ACEMPI), which operates under the umbrella of the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), has re-elected John Georgoulas as Chairman during its Annual Electoral General Assembly.
The Assembly was held on Monday, 24 November 2025, at the CCCI offices in Nicosia, in the presence of the CCCI Secretary General, Philokypros Roussounides, the relevant announcement said.
In his address, the Chairman of the Association, John Georgoulas, referred to the significant initiatives undertaken in 2025, which strengthened ACEMPI’s position within the financial services ecosystem. He highlighted the Association’s continuous cooperation with the regulatory authorities, the provision of well-documented recommendations regarding new directives, the support of innovation, as well as ACEMPI’s participation in European institutional bodies and policymaking processes.
He also referred to the development of the sector, the increase in member participation, and the strategy to promote Cyprus as a regional hub for digital payments.
During the Assembly, elections were held for the new Board of Directors for the 2026–2029 term, which was formed as follows:

In closing, the Chairman emphasised that ACEMPI will continue to operate as a responsible, collective and institutional representative of the sector, investing in transparency, education, innovation and constructive cooperation with all stakeholders, with the ultimate aim of shaping a secure, competitive and modern digital payments environment in Cyprus.
