The MoU, which was signed during the France - Cyprus Innovation & Cooperation Forum, took place at the residence of the French Ambassador to Cyprus.
This collaboration sets the foundation for a self-funded programme focused on joint development, prototyping, and demonstration of next-generation unmanned aerial systems, including a C-UAS drone that integrates Limassol-based SignalGeneriX’s embedded AI capabilities with Aerix Systems’ technologies.
“This partnership reflects our determination to bring together Europe’s best technological capabilities around a shared vision: autonomous, sovereign, and interoperable systems,” said Hugo Mayounove, co-founder and President of Aerix Systems. “By combining our omnidirectional propulsion technology with SignalGeneriX’s mission electronics systems, we are paving the way for a new generation of agile, multi-mission effectors.”
Dr Tasos Kounoudes, CEO of SignalGeneriX Ltd, stated: “We are proud to combine our technologies with Aerix Systems and support the growing Cyprus – French innovation and cooperation in the defence domain. Our AI Edge mission computer is a tangible innovative result of the European Defence project LOTUS supported by the Cyprus ministry of Defence which drives defence innovation in Cyprus”
In parallel, both companies are collaborating with European partners under the European Defense Fund (EDF) on the PLEIADES project, which focuses on swarm autonomous systems and the development of disruptive technologies, with the support of the Cyprus Ministry of Defence.
