Leadership in a generation that refuses to grow up

The modern workplace is facing a new, exciting, yet demanding reality. The younger generations of employees, driven by a deep need for freedom, authenticity, and continuous personal growth, often challenge the traditional notions of commitment and career. Their sense of independence and quest for meaning at work are replacing the hierarchical models of the past, creating an environment where leadership must adapt, inspire, and redefine itself.

Within this context, Cleo Papadopoulou, Head of Connected Tax Compliance Managed Services, Chief Learning Officer, and Chief Inclusion & Diversity Officer at PwC Cyprus, will take the stage at the 24th Leadership & Human Resource Management Conference to deliver her talk titled “Escaping Neverland: How to Lead a Generation of Peter Pans.”

Cleo will explore how today’s leaders can understand and guide a generation seemingly reluctant to “grow up” according to traditional standards, highlighting the importance of empathy, authenticity, and psychological safety in leadership.

A distinguished professional and trailblazer at PwC Cyprus, Cleo Papadopoulou began her journey in an unexpected way: from studying dance in London to becoming the first female partner at PwC Cyprus. With more than 30 years of experience in taxation, both in London and Cyprus, she has dedicated her career to people development and to building organizations that promote diversity and inclusion. As an EMCC-accredited coach and HRDA-certified trainer, she empowers leaders and teams to discover their potential and to cultivate cultures of trust and inspiration.

The 24th Leadership & Human Resource Management Conference, to be held on Friday, November 28, 2025, at Parklane, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in Limassol, carries the distinctive theme “From Analogue Boomers to AI-Powered Zoomers.” Organized by PwC, the conference stands as a key point of reference for HR professionals and the business community in Cyprus.
