Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation & Digital Policy Nicodemos Damianou has met with Qatar’s Minister of Communications and Information Technology, Mohammed bin Ali Al Mannai, to discuss enhancing bilateral collaboration on AI, innovation policy and digital policy – among other topics.
"We had a productive discussion on emerging digital trends in the region, Europe, and globally, highlighting the importance of AI gigafactories in shaping our shared digital future and exchanged views on the challenges, opportunities, and the transformative impact of technology on our economies and societies as they progress in their digital journeys," Damianou, who is on a two-day official visit to Qatar, posted on his social media. "Our talks focused on practical next steps for collaboration in the areas of artificial intelligence, innovation policy, and digital skills, where Cyprus and Qatar share a common vision for sustainable growth and digital excellence."
The deputy minister said he looked forward to strengthening the two countries’ bilateral cooperation, "and building new bridges between our tech and innovation ecosystems".
