Inflation in October 2025 decreased at a rate of 0.3%, according to data published by CySTAT.
The Consumer Price Index (CPI) in October 2025 increased by 0.54 points, reaching 118.25 units compared to 117.71 units in September 2025.
The largest positive change in the economic categories, compared with October 2024, was recorded in Services (3%), while the largest negative changes were observed in Electricity (-7.5%) and Agricultural Products (-2.6%).
Compared with September 2025, the largest change was recorded in Electricity (1.7%).
Analysis of Percentage Changes
Compared to October 2024, the largest increases were recorded in the categories Restaurants and Hotels (4.4% )and Education (3.5%). The largest decreases were recorded in the categories Clothing and Footwear (-6.7%), and Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-2.1%).
Compared to September 2025, the largest changes were recorded in the categories Clothing and Footwear (3.6%) and Education (1.2%).
For the period January – October 2025, compared with the corresponding period of the previous year, the largest increases were recorded in the categories Restaurants and Hotels (4.7%), Education (3.7%) and Recreation and Culture (3.3%). The largest decrease was recorded in Clothing and Footwear (-6.2%).
Analysis of Effects in Units
According to CySTAT, the largest positive impact on the change of the CPI in October 2025, compared to October 2024, was recorded in the categories Restaurants and Hotels (0.48) and Education (0.16), while the largest negative impact on the change of the CPI in October 2025 compared to October 2024 was recorded in the categories Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages (-0.52) and Clothing and Footwear (-0.51).
The largest impact on the change of the CPI in October 2025, compared to September 2025, was recorded in the categories Clothing and Footwear (0.25) and Housing, Water, Electricity, Gas and Other Fuels (0.12).
The largest positive impact on the change of the CPI in October 2025, compared to the index of October 2024, was recorded in Catering Services (0.50), while the largest negative impact was recorded in Clothing (-0.43) and Electricity (-0.43).
Clothing (0.17) had the largest positive impact on the change of the CPI in October 2025, compared to the corresponding index of September 2025, while Fresh Fruits (-0.15) had the largest negative impact.
