Euro area annual inflation falls in October 2025, Cyprus records a slight increase

Annual inflation in the euro area decreased to 2.1% in October 2025, down from 2.2% in September. However, Cyprus saw a rise from 0.0% in September to 0.3% in October 2025.

At the euro area level, services remain the sector with the highest annual inflation rate, reaching 3.4% in October, up from 3.2% in September. Food, alcohol, and tobacco follow at 2.5%, while processed food, alcohol, and tobacco recorded 2.4%. Unprocessed food saw an increase of 3.2%, and non-energy industrial goods stood at 0.6%. Energy continues to be in negative territory, with an annual inflation rate of -1.0%.

In other euro area countries, inflation ranges from 1.3% in Italy to 4.5% in Estonia. Greece recorded a decline from 1.8% to 1.7%, while Germany saw a slight decrease from 2.4% to 2.3%.

The full release of data for October 2025 is expected on 19 November 2025. The figures are sourced from Eurostat and are based on the Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP).
