The third day of the International Maritime Tourism Festival 2025 was dedicated to knowledge and business innovation within the framework of the 'Blue Horizons – Sea Tourism & Development Conference'.
State representatives, academics and professionals discussed the prospects for the development of marine tourism and the blue economy in the Eastern Mediterranean, laying the foundations for future collaborations and investments.
The conference included four thematic sections that covered key issues for the industry: the first section focused on the importance of state support and the creation of collaborative networks between marinas in the region, with particular reference to the district of free Famagusta, as a factor in extending the tourist season.
The second section highlighted the safety of marinas and coastal zones, as well as the need to strengthen regulations for the protection of the marine environment.
The third section presented the use of artificial intelligence and new technologies to create "smart marinas", transforming marine tourism into a more "innovative and competitive model".
The fourth and final section prompted dialogue on the creation of a yachting cluster in the Eastern Mediterranean, strengthening cooperation between Cyprus, Greece and Egypt and connecting the region with Europe and the Middle East.
A special moment was the open discussion with Olympic Champion Pavlos Kontides, while the audience enjoyed an impressive Flyboard show and an evening concert with Vangelis and Sofia Proimou.
Participants had the opportunity to learn about new technologies, innovative services and sustainable practices that enhance the development of marine tourism.
The International Sea Tourism Festival 2025 offers a comprehensive experience, connecting entrepreneurship, innovation, culture and social participation and makes Cyprus a reference point in blue development and international maritime tourism.
