Invest Cyprus has assumed the Regional Directorship for Eastern Europe, following the General Assembly and elections of the World Association of Investment Promotion Agencies (WAIPA).
The elections took place on 21 October 2025 in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, as part of the 29th World Investment Conference 2025, held in collaboration with the Sharjah Investment Forum.
The electoral process established WAIPA’s new leadership for the 2025–2027 term, which will set the strategic direction of the Association for the years ahead. The Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) was elected as President, with Mohammed Mulla Yaqoub, Acting Director General for Business Development Affairs at KDIPA, assuming the presidency. ProDominicana (Dominican Republic) and Invest Korea were elected as Vice Presidents, reflecting the diversity and global dynamism of WAIPA’s membership.
As part of the regional directorship elections, Cyprus is now represented by Invest Cyprus as the Regional Director for Eastern Europe, further strengthening the country’s position within the global investment promotion community and highlighting its active role in enhancing regional cooperation and development.
