EU project to move along Advanced Air Mobility discussed at 2nd plenary

The 2nd Transnational Plenary Meeting of EUSOME – a 4-year European project dedicated to advancing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in the region – successfully concluded in Patras on 8 October.

KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence’s partners at the Athena Research Center - Institute of Industrial Systems at the University of Patras hosted the event.

On the first day, technical partners presented their work so far on the EUSOME vehicle prototypes, the types of sensors to be integrated on them, and the algorithms enabling our progress into autonomy.

On the second day, discussions focused on the regulatory aspects for the adoption of Uspace in the Southeast Mediterranean region, as well as the communication and dissemination activities completed so far and those planned for the upcoming period.

Joining from a distance, Dr Constantinos Dovrolis presented the newly established AI Ethics Board.

The meeting concluded with final remarks from Prof. George Ellinas, project coordinator from KIOS Research and Innovation Center of Excellence of the University of Cyprus, who summarised key outcomes and next steps.

Over the two productive days, partners had the opportunity to review progress, exchange insights, and plan the next phase of activities.

Funded by Horizon Europe, the EUSOME is a four-year European project dedicated to advancing Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) in the region. By addressing challenges in transport, emergency response, and climate adaptation, the project aims to integrate AAM into everyday life through innovation, training, and public engagement. Bringing together 16 partners across four countries, we are creating a sustainable and transformative future for Southeast Europe.
