The Association of Cyprus Banks has elected Bank of Cyprus CEO Panicos Nicolaou as its new Board Chairman, during its most recent Board of Directors meeting.
Eurobank CFO Demetris Shacallis has been elected as Vice Chairman.
According to the Association’s statutes, the term of office for both the Chairman and Vice Chairman is two years.
Nicolaou will be replacing outgoing Chairman Aristides Vourakis, AstroBank’s CEO, who has taken on new professional duties.
The Association said extends its warmest thanks to Vourakis for his contribution and wishes him every success in his future career. It went on to wish the new leadership of the Board every success in its mission to represent and strengthen the banking sector of Cyprus.
