Department of Road Transport topics added to gov.cy Digital Assistant

The government's Digital Assistant has been enhanced and now covers Department of Road Transport topics 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

According to an official announcement from the Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation and Digital Policy, "The Digital Assistant on the gov.cy portal has been enriched with information regarding issues and procedures of the Department of Road Transport, providing citizens with immediate, reliable, and continuous service on a 24-hour basis."

Specifically, it can now respond to citizens’ questions related to:

  • Registration certificate

  • Driving licences

  • Road use licences

  • Road transport operator licence

  • Certificates of professional competence

In addition, it will provide information on the Electric Mobility Promotion Scheme, which aims to reduce CO₂ emissions in the road transport sector, as well as on vehicle recalls for airbag replacement.

So far, within nine (9) months of operation, the Digital Assistant has answered more than 180,000 citizens’ questions. Gradually, as new topics are added, it is evolving into an increasingly useful tool for citizens’ information and service, facilitating, simplifying, and accelerating their communication with the public sector.

The Digital Assistant responds to citizens’ queries submitted either in writing or orally, in Greek and English, and it can also understand written 'Greeklish'.

Access to the Digital Assistant is provided both through the government portal gov.cy and via the Digital Citizen application. It has also been integrated into the individual websites of Ministries and Deputy Ministries relevant to the topics it covers.
