President Christodoulides to address UN General Assembly plenary

President Nikos Christodoulides will address the plenary of the 80th United Nations General Assembly, on Wednesday, at 2pm New York time, which will be 9pm in Cyprus. 

In a post on X, President Christodoulides said that, in his speech, he will highlight, “among other things, the importance, in this critical geopolitical juncture, of the multilateral system, collective responsibility and cooperation.”

According to a post by the Presidency of the Republic of Cyprus, President Christodoulides will address the General Assembly  at 9pm Cyprus time, “highlighting, in this critical geopolitical juncture, the importance of multilateralism, collective responsibility and cooperation in addressing common challenges”. “He will also highlight the positions of the Republic of Cyprus and stress our initiatives at regional and European level, as well as the upcoming Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU,” it added.

“He will also refer to our efforts for a solution to the Cyprus problem and the reunification of our occupied homeland, with the aim of a free, secure, strong and prosperous Cyprus for all its citizens,” the post concluded.
