Invest Cyprus, the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry (CCCI), the Cyprus Association of Research and Innovation Enterprises (CARIE), and the High Commission of India in Cyprus recently welcomed a high-level delegation from India's Department of Defence Production to a Round Table discussion that also included the participation of private entities from India and Cyprus' defence sectors.
"The strong and enduring partnership between India and Cyprus continues to grow, with this Round-Table Discussion serving as yet another step towards deeper cooperation and mutual development across sectors," a LinkedIn post by Invest Cyprus noted.
It continued, "We had the privilege of welcoming a high-level delegation from the Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence (Government of India), led by the Secretary of the Department of Defence Production and moderating a Round Table discussion between public and private entities from India and Cyprus related to defense."
"A warm thank you to everyone who contributed to making this exchange possible, Dr. Tasos Kounoudes, Andreas Andreou, Philokypros Roussounides, and the Ministry of Defence Cyprus. A special thanks to H.E. Ambassador Manish Manish for his invaluable role in further strengthening the bonds between our two nations," the post concluded.
The CCCI also posted about the event, writing "A productive Round-Table Discussion was held with a distinguished Indian delegation from the Ministry of Defence (Department of Defence Production), Government of India, led by the Secretary of the Department of Defence Production.
CARIE, meanwhile, posted, "We thank the High Commissioner of India Mr Manish Manish, Invest Cyprus - CIPA and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry for organising this very productive business round table event and for inviting CARIE (ΚΣΕΕΚ) to present the Cyprus Defence and Space Industry cluster. We are looking forward to further explore opportunities for collaboration between CARIE (ΚΣΕΕΚ) members and Indian companies operating in the field of Defence and Aerospace innovation. We are building on the commitment of President Nikos Christodoulides and Prime Minister Narendra Modi to strengthen Cyprus–India industrial cooperation."
And, on his part, the High Commissioner of India to Cyprus, Manish, in his post, said, "Invest Cyprus - CIPA Cyprus Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Cyprus Association of Research & Innovation Enterprise CARIE (ΚΣΕΕΚ) joined together and hosted a sectoral discussion on identifying possible areas of cooperation in defence industry with their Indian counterparts.
In attendance were Marios Tannousis Philokypros Roussounides Dr. Tasos Kounoudes Pavlos Phokas Chrysilios Pelekanos and other members of CARIE. India's side was represented by Sanjeev Kumar, Secretary Defence Production, government officials and CMDs of Bharat Dynamics Limited and Bharat Electronics Limited.
