Deputy Minister of Tourism Kostas Koumis and Head of the Greek National Tourism Organisation (GNTO) Office in Cyprus Athina Spakouri have discussed opportunities and possibilities for further strengthening the already excellent relations and cooperation between the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the GNTO.
According to a Deputy Ministry statement, a number of tourism-related issues were discussed during the 12 September meeting, such as the interconnection between the tourism agencies of the two countries and addressing common challenges observed in the tourism sector, followed by an exchange of views and suggestions on how to present and promote the products offered by Cyprus and Greece more effectively.
It is added that the Deputy Ministry of Tourism and the GNTO Cyprus Head confirmed their mutual willingness to continue and further expand their cooperation.
It is further noted that during the meeting, Koumis said that the goal of the Deputy Ministry of Tourism is to seize every opportunity to further develop the Greek tourism market, while also expressing the will to offer the GNTO office in Cyprus support in order to achieve its goals.
He also added that the continuous upgrading of tourism services, combined with the rise of special forms of tourism, have once again created the conditions for an increase in travel of the citizens of the two countries, making special reference to the historical ties between Cyprus and Greece, the common language, strong trade relations, culture, and others, noting that all these should certainly be taken into account.
