Three US-based Cypriot and Greek women to address the Creative Women Platform's inaugural assembly in New York

Three US-based Cypriot and Greek women, Laura Neroulias Bisiotis, Paola Hadjialambri and Maria Markou will be speaking at the inaugural assembly of the Creative Women Platform in New York.

The event will be taking place on Monday, 15 September at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, during the UN General Assembly. 

Cypriot Laura Neroulias Bisiotis is the Founder of LΩRA PR (LORA PR) while, also Cypriot, Paola Hadjilambri is the Vice-President of Emerald Real Estate, an award-winning actress and an Olympic Priestess. Greek Maria Markou is the Founder of Maria Markou Global Legal Group.

Laura Neroulias Bisiotis is an award-winning communications strategist and founder of LΩRA PR (LORA PR). With more than 20 years of experience, Bisiotis has shaped global public relations, branding, and marketing campaigns for some of the world’s most recognisable brands, including The Ritz-Carlton Residences, Hilton, Marriott, New Balance, Paris Hilton, The Kardashians, Art Basel Miami, and Miami Fashion Week.

She has also led initiatives in the Greek and Cypriot markets, collaborating with the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI), being the founding president of the Cypriot Young Professionals (of the Cyprus-U.S. Chamber of Commerce), Costa Navarino, and major hospitality ventures. Her work has earned her prestigious recognition, including the MEDIA Award at the Cyprus Diaspora Forum CYDIA Awards (2025), the Greek America Foundation’s Forty Under 40 distinction (2024), and The PR Net’s Next Gen Award (2024). Paola Hadjialambri

Paola Hadjialambri, Vice-President at Emerald Real Estate, award-winning actress, and Olympic Priestess, is a celebrated Cypriot actress and cultural ambassador. Hadjialambri is the only woman from Cyprus to be chosen as an Olympic Priestess participating in the ritual of igniting the Olympic Flame in 2004 and onwards in summer and winter olympics.

Her acclaimed performances include Hecuba in Trojan Women and Melina: The Last Greek Goddess, which won Best International Show at the United Solo Festival in New York. Alongside her artistic achievements, she has built a distinguished career in business and television, while championing philanthropy and cultural exchange. Guided by her philosophy that “the sky is the limit,” Hadjialambri continues to inspire across both the stage and the boardroom.

Maria Markou, Esq., Founder and President of Markou Global Legal Group, LLC, is a leading authority on international law, licensed to practise in both Greece and New York, and certified as a mediator by the New York Peace Institute.

With advanced legal degrees from Athens, St. Mary’s, and Lund Universities, as well as executive diplomas from Harvard Law School and Georgetown Law Center, she has combined academic excellence with a dynamic international legal career. Beyond her professional achievements, Markou has advised judges, diplomats, and legal professionals, published widely on legal ethics, and is a dedicated philanthropist.

It is also worth noting that Olga Balakleets, the Founder & CEO of the Creative Women Platform and an award-winning pianist and entrepreneur, also has close ties to Cyprus, having been instrumental in the organisation of several high-profile charity and cultural events on the island.

Held on the eve of New York Climate Week, the inaugural assembly of the Creative Women Platform will bring together visionaries from around the globe, including leaders in politics, business, science, philanthropy, and the arts. It aims to celebrate the transformative role of women in building a future founded on empowerment, equality, and unity.

The evening will culminate in the presentation of the Creative Women Outstanding Achievement Award, New York 2025, recognising extraordinary contributions in creativity, leadership, and social impact. "This award reflects the mission of the Creative Women Platform: to celebrate excellence not as an end in itself, but as a force that inspires progress and transformation across industries and nations," the press release notes, adding that the networking reception will also feature a special performance by John Gallant, Creative Music Ambassador.
