Following the recent fires in Limassol, Mall of Cyprus and Mall of Engomi have announced financial and other support for impacted businesses and individuals.
According to a relevant announcement, assistance through donations includes €10,000 from Mall of Cyprus, €10,000 from Mall of Cyprus tenants, €5,000 from Mall of Engomi and €5,000 from Mall of Engomi tenants.
"The total amount of €30,000 is an initial, substantial effort to support the people and communities that have been affected, the announcement said, continuing, "At the same time, recognising the serious impact on local businesses in the affected areas, the two shopping centres have decided to provide free promotional space one weekend each month to businesses that have been affected. The aim is to give them the opportunity to promote and boost their economic activity through events, sales, and exposure to the wider public in Nicosia and throughout Cyprus."
Those interested can contact marketing@mallofcyprus.com for more information or to reserve promotional space.
The Malls also announced that on 6 and 7 September, the Pan-Cyprian Volunteerism Coodinative Council (PVCC) is organising, in collaboration with the Mall of Cyprus, an event to support the PVCC's licensed fundraiser for fire victims (conducted under Article 2 of the Fundraising Law/2014) with the support of various partners, organisations, and other bodies. The event will take place from noon to 7pm on both days, the announcement said, adding, "Our visitors will have the opportunity to contribute financially and actively participate in the overall effort that has been made recently."
"The Mall of Cyprus and the Mall of Engomi are joining forces with society, with respect for local communities, sending a message of hope and solidarity to those in need. We are confident that the public and the business community in Cyprus will respond to this call for help. Further information will be released shortly, with the aim of keeping the public fully informed," it concluded.
