Deputy Minister presents digital platform showcasing cultural events in Cyprus

The 'Let’s Culture' digital platform, which will showcase cultural events and activities taking place in Cyprus, has been presented by Deputy Minister of Culture, Vasiliki Kassianidou.

In her address at a press conference in Nicosia on 25 August, Kassianidou pointed out that through the platform, all cultural events and actions taking place in Cyprus will be able to be displayed, clarifying that the platform does not only concern events organised or sponsored by the Deputy Ministry and its departments.

As she explained, all cultural events can be registered on the platform regardless of the body organizing them. “The platform is aimed at artists and all creators, all bodies active in the field of Culture,” she noted, adding that it is also aimed at local governments, academic and research institutions, non-profit organisations and anyone else who wishes to promote their cultural actions.

These actions, the Deputy Minister of Culture pointed out, must be classified in one of the following categories: theatre, cinema, dance, art exhibitions, music, literature, traditional culture, archaeology and history, cultural heritage, crafts and handicrafts. Conferences, lectures, workshops, seminars or guided tours dealing with these topics can also be registered on the “Let’s Culture” platform, she added.

“Our initiative aims both to promote and highlight our cultural product, as well as to strengthen the work of artists and cultural institutions,” Vasiliki Kassianidou pointed out, adding that “in this way we implement and strengthen our strategic goals for the promotion and promotion of modern cultural production and support for cultural institutions through the development of an audience that will participate in their actions.”

Noting the platform's contribution to society, Kassianidou said that citizens will now be able to refer to "Let’s Culture" and the calendar of all the events it includes at any time, in order to be informed about what is happening around the culture of our country. “In this way, a bridge of communication, information, knowledge and synergy is created between creators and those who enjoy creation, which we believe will have a positive impact overall” she added.

Finally, the Deputy Minister of Culture expressed the hope that “Let’s Culture will soon be filled with events, which will be a living testimony to the richness and diversity of the cultural landscape of Cyprus.”

During the presentation of ‘Let’s Culture’, it was noted that in about a month, the platform, which was put into operation in mid-August, will also be available in English.

The digital platform ‘Let’s Culture’ is available at https://letsculture.cy.
