Tourism Ministry to take part in 52 international exhibitions by the end of 2025

The Cyprus Deputy Ministry of Tourism is expected to take part in a total of 52 international tourism exhibitions in 2025, with the next major participation scheduled for the IFTM exhibition in Paris in September.

According to the indicative list of exhibitions, upcoming events include the Caravan Salon in Dusseldorf at the end of August and three more exhibitions in September — IFTM (Paris), Tourism Expo Japan (Osaka), and SeaTrade Europe (Hamburg).

In October, the Deputy Ministry will attend four more exhibitions, two in Stockholm, one in Copenhagen, and the National Wedding Show in Birmingham, targeting wedding tourism.

In November, the focus will be on London’s World Travel Market (WTM), along with the IBTM (Barcelona), ITTF (Warsaw), and Philoxenia (Thessaloniki). It also plans to attend the Athens Authentic Marathon to promote sports tourism, as well as events in Colmar and Leipzig.

Earlier in March 2025, Deputy Minister Kostas Koumis led the Cypriot delegation to the ITB Berlin, holding meetings with major tourism organisations focused on the German market, airline executives, and other international tourism bodies.

In 2025 so far, the Deputy Ministry has also taken part in exhibitions in the Netherlands, Austria, UK, Switzerland, Germany, Finland, Ireland, USA, Lithuania, France, Estonia, Belgium, Latvia, Hungary, Denmark, Serbia, Sweden, UAE, Israel, China, and the Travel Expo Cyprus, promoting domestic tourism.

The 2024 annual report, released on 7 August 2025, noted that the Deputy Ministry took part in 44 international exhibitions abroad in 2024, 36 of general tourism interest and 8 on niche tourism (wedding/romantic, golf, conference and incentive travel, diving, cultural, and rural/nature tourism).

It highlighted strong participation with large national pavilions at major events like WTM-London, ITB-Berlin, IFTM-Paris, and IBTM-Barcelona.

The report stressed that the primary goal of participation is to promote the priorities of the National Tourism Strategy 2030, establishing Cyprus as a year-round, high-quality, socially beneficial, and environmentally friendly destination. Special emphasis was placed on promoting rural areas, developing destination quality labels, and consolidating special forms of tourism.

For 2026, the indicative schedule already includes 47 international exhibitions.
