Work on the €1.3m restoration and renovation of the old warehouses of the community of Kato Pyrgos, Tillyria, is expected to begin in September, according to the President of the Kato Pyrgos of Tylliria Community Council Nicos Kleanthous.
In statements to CNA, Kleanthous said that in communication with the Minister of Interior, Constantinos Ioannou, earlier this week, he was informed that the request for the restoration-renovation of the community's old warehouses has been approved.
For this purpose, Kleanthous said, they will be granted the amount of €1,300,000, while the implementation of the project is expected to begin in September.
Kleanthous stated that the community authority aims to utilise the two spaces to create a Cultural Centre for various events and a cafe-restaurant.
He thanked the Nicosia District Officer for their contribution to the initiation of procedures, the Minister of Interior and the Government for the approval and allocation of the amount.
Kleanthous concluded that, through their restoration, the warehouses will become a true jewel for the community.
