Cyprus and the advantages for foreign business owners and shareholders

With the participation of senior executives from technology companies, decision-makers, and experts in the field of business and private relocation, the 3rd Cyprus International Technology Relocation Summit is set to present the country’s major advantages for foreign professionals from Europe, the Middle East, and the Eastern Mediterranean.

The event will take place on 13 and 14 October, 2025, at the Hilton Nicosia hotel under the title: Cyprus: The New Global Tech & Innovation Hub.”

Among the key panels of this major event is: The advantages for business owners and shareholders, HNWIs and their Families, and employees.”

The discussion will cover key tax features and advantages for shareholders and business owners, such as the Cyprus Non-Domicile Regime, capital gains and inheritance tax, as well as income repatriation. It will also address essential legal aspects, such as wealth protection and preservation through Cyprus International Trusts, wills, and estate planning.

There will be discussions on asset and wealth management, with a focus on managing private and family wealth in Cyprus. Finally, the employee and digital nomad experience will be explored, with emphasis on migration policy and the relocation process for employees and their families, as well as the tax exemptions and benefits available to them.

Among the distinguished guests participating in the roundtable is Christos Ioannou, Head of Private & Affluent Banking, Bank of Cyprus.

Who is Who

With more than 15 years of professional experience in the banking sector, Christos joined Bank of Cyprus with a position in Corporate Banking and Debt Recovery. Before taking over Private & Affluent Banking, he was responsible for designing and launching the Bank’s Transformation Plan as Chief Transformation Officer. Christos is a CFA Charterholder. He also holds a degree in Business Administration with a focus in Finance from Baruch College at the City University of New York, and a master’s degree in Global Finance from the New School for Social Research in New York.

A two-day experience of networking and knowledge sharing

The summit will open on Monday,  13 October, with a networking cocktail, exclusively for invited delegates and sponsors.

The second and final day, Tuesday, 14 October, includes four thematic roundtable discussions focusing firstly on the economy and investment environment of Cyprus, with the participation of policymakers and institutions such as Invest Cyprus and the Research and Innovation Foundation; secondly, on the corporate environment and the relocation of technology businesses to Cyprus; thirdly, on the advantages for shareholders, entrepreneurs, HNWIs, and employees; and finally, on presenting the experience of living and working in Cyprus.

Special interest is expected in the case studies from leading technology companies already active in Cyprus, which will confirm the island’s strategic advantages on a practical basis.
