The Council of Ministers has approved a call for tenders for the implementation of the first phase of the Polis Chrysochous–Paphos motorway, Minister of Transport Alexis Vafeades stated after the session.
“We are proceeding with tenders immediately. I expect that the documents will have been posted by (11 August), because it is a large volume of documents, and we are moving forward with the implementation and the commencement of construction works as soon as possible. This confirms our determination to proceed with the implementation of this project, as previously announced,” he noted.
“We expect that the Polis–Paphos motorway will improve road safety and certainly enhance connectivity. It will also give all the residents of the area—both in the wider Polis Chrysochous region and in Paphos District—the opportunity to further develop their activities and thereby upgrade their quality of life,” Vafeades added.
In response to a question about timelines, the Minister said that public procurement legislation is being followed, and that more details will be set out on the e-procurement platform.
