In response to the recent devastating wildfires across Cyprus, 'Hope For Children' CRC Policy Center stands in solidarity with the affected communities, particularly the children and families whose lives have been upended.
The organisation has mobilised its resources to provide both immediate and long-term support to those impacted, a press release notes.
"Drawing on its extensive outreach experience and crisis-response capacity, Hope For Children acted swiftly during the emergency. Today, our commitment remains steadfast as we continue to support victims through the long recovery process. We are currently offering essential aid, including food, clothing, and footwear, tailored to the specific needs of each child and their family," the press release continues.
It goes on to point out, "The psychological toll of such disasters is profound and long-lasting. Hope For Children is offering free psychological and psychosocial support to children and families. This service will remain available as long as needed, ensuring that no child faces trauma alone."
"We maintain ongoing communication with the Social Welfare Services and Civil Defence to remain aligned with the evolving needs of the affected population as they are currently being assessed by the Services. Our Back-to-School Campaign for 2025 will be dedicated to supporting children from families impacted by the wildfires, helping to ease their transition into the new school year with dignity and care," the press release also notes.
"We extend our sincere gratitude to our corporate partners and individuals for their invaluable contributions, be it through in-kind donations or monetary donations, which have empowered us to provide support quickly and compassionately," it goes on to say, adding, " If you or someone you know has been affected by the wildfire and needs support, please call our National Helpline 1466. For corporations or individuals who wish to support the wildfire victims through our efforts, whether through financial contributions or in-kind donations, please contact us at luzdary.s@uncrcpc.org or call 22 103234."
"Together, we can help rebuild lives with compassion, resilience, and hope," the press release concludes.
