Monaco Telecom, which acquired MTN in Cyprus and rebranded it to Epic, was honoured for its investment in Cyprus at the 13th Invest Cyprus International Investment Awards presented by PwC Cyprus.
The award was delivered to Martin Péronnet, CEO of Monaco Telecom.
Monaco Telecom is the operator of the Principality of Monaco, providing broadband, TV, mobile and BtoB services, with a strong international approach. Monaco Telecom is headquartered in Monaco and is co-owned by NJJ Holding and the Principality. NJJ belongs to Xavier Niel who has progressively built one of the fastest-growing telecom groups in countries like France, Italy, Poland, Switzerland, Ireland, South America and the Nordic Countries.
Monaco Telecom has developed its international strategy with the objective of leveraging its strong innovation know-how and its experience of international markets to build a solid presence in European Mediterranean destinations. In 2018, Monaco Telecom acquired MTN in Cyprus and rebranded it to Epic. In 2020, the operator also purchased 100% of Vodafone Malta.
Cyprus was Monaco Telecom's first country of choice, because of the resilience and dynamism of its economy, the stability of its political and regulatory environment and the talent of its people. Epic is now a leading provider in Cyprus. Its 5G mobile network was rated best in test in 2024 by international independent testing company umlaut, and its new FTTH service is expanding fast, bringing up to 5Gbps speeds to its growing customer base.
