Thirteen bounced cheques totaling €28,296 registered in June

In June, 13 bounced cheques totaling €28,296 were registered in the preliminary list of the Central Information Register (CIR), according to data released by the Central Bank of Cyprus.

The 13 bounced cheques originated from eight individuals—three legal entities and five natural persons.

In total, during the first half of 2025, 115 bounced cheques amounting to €269,884 were reported. By comparison, during the same period in 2024, 143 cheques worth €302,946 had been reported.

Additionally, in June 2025, four issuers of bounced cheques were registered in the CIR. Of these, one was a legal entity, two were natural persons, and one was a natural person who controlled a legal entity.

In total, during the first half of the year, 50 issuers were registered in the CIR: 19 legal entities, nine natural persons, and 22 natural persons who control legal entities.
