Construction materials up 1.34% y-o-y in May

The Price Index of Construction Materials for May 2025 reached 118.92 units (base year 2021=100), recording an increase of 1,34%, compared to the same month of 2024, according to the Statistical Service.

Compared to April 2025, a marginal decrease of 0.09% was observed. For the period January-May 2025, the index recorded an increase of 1.23% compared to the corresponding period of 2024.

By main commodity category, when comparing May 2025 with May 2024, increases were recorded in minerals (3.65%), mineral products (3.47%), products of wood, insulation materials, chemicals and plastics (0.48%) and electromechanical products (0.37%), whereas a decrease was observed in metallic products (-0.74%).
