DSA participates in cyber attack response project

The Office of the Commissioner of Communications – the Digital Security Cybersecurity Authority (DSA) has announced its participation in the European research project PHOENI2X, an initiative closely linked to research, innovation, and technological progress in the field of cybersecurity.

PHOENI2X is funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme and is carried out by a consortium of leading experts, research institutions, and organisations from various EU member states.

According to a press release from DSA, the project's goal is to redefine how critical infrastructures prepare for and respond to cyber attacks by developing a cybersecurity framework that significantly enhances the resilience of these infrastructures.

By integrating artificial intelligence technologies into this framework, the project aims to improve the prediction, detection, and response capabilities to cybersecurity incidents. This will enable critical infrastructures and national authorities to detect, respond to, and recover from cyber and physical incidents more quickly and accurately.

Furthermore, DSA's participation in PHOENI2X demonstrates its commitment to strengthening the country’s critical digital infrastructure, actively contributing to the creation of a safer digital environment in Cyprus against the constantly evolving cyber threats.
