Theodoros Loukaidis reappointed RIF Director General

The Board of Directors of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF) announced that, following an open selection process, it has decided to appoint Theodoros Loukaidis as the RIF Director General for another five-year term.

Loukaidis holds an Executive MBA from Warwick Business School, a master’s degree in Communications and Signal Processing from Imperial College, London, and a BEng (First Class, Hons) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from UMIST, UK. He has extensive experience in business administration at both domestic and international levels. Over the past five years, he has served as the Director General of the RIF, significantly contributing to the rapid development of the ecosystem and enhancing its performance in European and international indices.

The Board of Directors expressed its "full confidence in Loukaidis' abilities to continue the dynamic trajectory of RIF towards strengthening research, innovation, and technological development in Cyprus".

On behalf of the Board of Directors, Chairman Demetris Skourides said, "We are confident that, under his leadership as Director General and in collaboration with the Board, the RIF will continue to evolve, strengthen its partnerships, and implement the National R&I Strategy, significantly contributing to the development of a globally competitive, unified, strong, and well-connected R&I ecosystem that will establish itself as a hub of R&I in the region".
