Mmam Medical Plaza: A new €10m private hospital in western Limassol

A new private hospital in the Municipality of Kourion (formerly the Municipality of Ypsonas) has secured the approval of the Environmental Authority.

The hospital named 'Mmam Medical Plaza' and belonging to Mmam Real Estate Ltd, will consist of a two-story building with a ground floor and basement areas, will have a total capacity of 87 beds (76 beds, 8 for intensive care and 3 for short-term hospitalisation) and will employ over 100 staff of various specialties and nursing staff.

The proposed project is located in the Ayios Silas location within the administrative boundaries of the Municipality of Kourion, Limassol district, while the area where the development will be located is adjacent to houses and residential developments.

What will the €10 million hospital include?

The estimated cost of the project, based on the environmental impact assessment study submitted in 2023, amounts to €10 million.

The hospital will provide, among others, the following specialties: General surgery, orthopedics, pathology, obstetrics and gynecology, cardiology, interventional cardiology, pediatrics, urology, neurosurgery, gastroenterology, intensive care, anesthesiology and microbiology.

The area of ​​the proposed project plot, according to the study, will amount to 8,500 sq m, while the total built-up area amounts to 5,462 sq m.

Of the total area of ​​the plot, 1,210 sq m will be occupied by public green space/gardens and the remaining 6,857 sq m will be used for the building.

The closed space will have an area of ​​5,462 sq m and will consist of a ground floor, two floors, and two and a half underground parking spaces of an area of ​​8,000 sq m, as the other half will consist of operating rooms.

It is clarified that, according to the Local Plan, private clinics, polyclinics, as well as private hospitals, may be located in plots that fall within residential areas along roads of primary importance under certain conditions.
