Libertex and Apollon Wheelchair Basketball Team team up for initiative

Libertex, part of the Libertex Group and one of the leading online brokers, visited the Apollon Wheelchair Basketball Team during a special training session held in the team’s home court, as part of its "ongoing commitment to inclusion, community empowerment, and local sports".

This meaningful initiative marked another chapter in the partnership between Libertex and the parasports team, which spans more than two years, a press release added.

The initiative offered a unique and interactive experience for Libertex employees, who had the opportunity to watch the team’s inspiring training up close and connect directly with the athletes. Following the session, Apollon players invited the Libertex team to join them on the court for a hands-on introduction to wheelchair basketball. A friendly hoop-shooting competition added a fun and lighthearted dimension to the day, followed by a casual meal shared between everyone present.

“At Libertex, we believe that true excellence lies in the determination to keep pushing forward—no matter the challenge,” said Marios Chailis, CMO, Libertex Group. “The Apollon Wheelchair Basketball Team reflects the very values that drive us—resilience, precision, and the relentless pursuit of performance. Supporting this team is more than sport; it’s about standing behind individuals who redefine what’s possible daily. This partnership is a testament to our dedication to community, inclusion, and the power of ambition—core elements of the Libertex ethos.”

On behalf of the Apollon Wheelchair Basketball Team, Leonidas Charalambous, President, Apollon Parasports noted: “Our partnership with Libertex goes far beyond sponsorship—it’s a relationship built on mutual respect, shared values, and a genuine commitment to inclusion. Every visit, every interaction reinforces the belief that sport can unite and inspire. We are grateful for Libertex’s unwavering support, which uplifts our team and strengthens the message that disability is not a limitation, but a different kind of strength."

Based in Limassol, where Libertex is also headquartered, the Apollon Wheelchair Basketball Team stands as a powerful symbol of courage, teamwork, and determination. Through this enduring partnership, Libertex continues to promote diversity, accessibility, and mutual respect. The recent visit not only deepened the connection between the two teams but also gave Libertex employees a meaningful opportunity to step outside their everyday roles, gain new perspectives, and engage with a group that truly embodies resilience and sportsmanship.

“We are proud to support the Apollon team and deeply thankful for the opportunity to connect with them in such an uplifting and hands-on way,” Chailis concluded.
