University of Cyprus and Chevron sign scholarship agreement

The University of Cyprus School of Engineering and Chevron Cyprus Limited have reached an agreement under which Chevron will provide three scholarships, totalling €15,375, to students pursuing master's degrees in selected engineering fields.

The three scholarships worth €5,125 each, concern master’s programs in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, the Department of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering, and the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, respectively.

They are open to students starting in September 2025 and students who secured admission for studies commencing in January 2025.

Applicants must meet certain financial, social, and academic requirements to qualify.

It should be noted that the scholarships only cover tuition fees and do not include living expenses or any other related fees.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Cyprus, Professor Marina Neophytou stated: “These scholarships enhance accessibility to postgraduate education, providing talented young men and women with the opportunity to dedicate themselves to their studies in the fields of Engineering and fully realise their academic and professional potential. Through such initiatives, we empower the next generation of engineering professionals, investing in a more innovative and sustainable future. For this reason, we extend our sincere gratitude for the generous contribution of Chevron Limited, with whom we hope to develop a meaningful partnership in strengthening the connection between the School of Engineering, industry, and society.”

Elias Orphanou, Director of Chevron Cyprus Limited, said: “The scholarships are part of Chevron Cyprus’ commitment to investing in young talent and fostering a culture of innovation and advancement in engineering. We are confident that this initiative will help students pursue STEM careers and bring new perspectives to innovation”.
