Business and Asset Acquisitions Clinic: A practical course for lawyers

The European Legal Training Centre (ELTC) has added a practical legal training programme, due to begin in March of this year.

More specifically, the ELTC will host the Business and Asset Acquisitions Clinic from 6 March to 3 April —a programme designed for practising as well as in-house lawyers, business development managers, and other professionals seeking to enhance their practical skills in managing high-stakes acquisition deals.

The ELTC has joined forces with corporate lawyer Stella Koukounis, in delivering this hands-on course on getting the deal through, offering participants the chance to explore the full acquisition process. The course will offer insights beyond the theoretical scope, delving into through real-life scenarios based on Cypriot law. Delivered as a legal clinic, the course focuses on real-world application, ensuring that participants gain practical skills in negotiation, drafting legal documents, and closing deals.

Why choose this course?

  • Practical Experience: Simulate real acquisition deals and apply your knowledge directly to actual case scenarios.
  • Comprehensive Skills: Master due diligence, draft acquisition agreements, negotiate terms, and manage deal closings.
  • Real-Life Application: Learn how to navigate complex legal, financial, and regulatory issues with confidence.
  • Bridge the gap between theory and practice: a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in managing complex acquisition transactions
  • Career-Enhancing: Equip yourself with the essential skills to handle high-stakes transactions, making you a valuable asset to your clients or organisation.
  • Led by Expert: Taught by Stella Koukounis, an expert in corporate, commercial, banking, and finance law with over 16 years of experience. Stella has represented high-net-worth international clients, private equity funds, and multinational companies. She has led multi-million euro deals, managed teams of over 25 professionals, and played a pivotal role in listing bonds on the Cyprus Stock Exchange and Dublin Euronext. Her extensive experience in handling complex financial transactions and structuring international acquisitions makes her the perfect instructor for this clinic. Stella Koukounis brings unique practical insights, having provided critical legal support for diverse high-stakes projects, including the largest electronic music festival in Cyprus. Her ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and advise on innovative financial structures ensures that participants receive guidance grounded in real-world success.
