Increases in building areas, vehicles, tourism, manufacturing in 2024

CySTAT has announced the publication of the bimonthly bulletin 'Monthly Economic Developments' for the period January–December 2024. 

The bulletin includes the most important economic developments for the Cyprus Economy, for the latest months up to December 2024, as well as comparative data for the last four years, which were available until the 11th of February 2025.

CySTAT says that Manufacturing Production during the period January-November 2024 recorded an increase of 1.8% compared to January-November 2023.

The total area of Building Permits Authorised reached 1,722.0 thousand square metres during the period January-August 2024, recording an increase of 18.0% compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The total Registrations of Motor Vehicles increased by 9.1%, reaching to 49,616 during the period January-December 2024. Private saloon cars increased to 34,254, recording a rise of 11.2% and light goods vehicles increased to 4,638 recording a rise of 36.1% compared to January-December 2023.

The Consumer Price Index increased by 1.8% during the period January-December 2024, compared to the corresponding period of the previous year.

The total Imports of Goods reached €12,256.1m during the period January–December 2024, recording a decrease of 7.0% and total Exports of Goods reached €4,121.8m, recording also a decrease of 12.5%.

Tourist arrivals reached 4,040,200 during the period January-December 2024, compared to 3,845,652 in the corresponding period of 2023, recording an increase of 5.1%.
