Bank of Cyprus unveils updated branch network

Bank of Cyprus is modernising its branch network, with its efforts focusing on speed, innovation and a human approach.

“Our primary objective remains to improve the quality of service through the specialisation of our staff, the upgrading of our customer base, the promotion of new services and digital products and the integration of new service channels,” the bank said.

The new model consists of four branch types (branches, lending units, transaction branches, digital branches) and has been implemented from January 2025.

In order to provide uninterrupted service to the public through self-service machines (until 10:00 pm), the Bank currently operates 18 points throughout the country.

Branches

The new branches will offer the full range of bank services for teller transactions and lending, as well as Life and General Sector Insurance products, account opening/management, Personal Data Update, card management, letter of guarantees, payment orders (i.e. Standing Orders, Direct Debits, etc.).

They are located in central locations and rural areas for better service and include ATMs and Deposit Machines for use by legal entities (in selected branches).

Lending Units

The Lending Units serve individuals, the self-employed and small businesses for loans and account management, as well as general sector and life insurance products. These units do not offer teller transactions, but provide guidance for banking services. They also have ATMs.

Transaction Branches

  • Teller transactions (deposits, withdrawals, transfers, foreign exchange, etc.)
  • Account opening/management, Personal Data Update, card management, letter of guarantees, payment orders (i.e Standing Orders, Direct Debits, etc.)
  • Do not offer lending facilities, but provide advice on all banking products
  • ATMs, Deposit Machines (for use by legal entities)

Digital Branches

  • Unmanned operating branches
  • Operate only with self-service machines (ATM, Deposit Machines for use by legal entities)
  • Provide services 7 days a week, until 10pm
