Renewal of vehicle registrations has begun

The renewal of vehicle registrations for 2025 has begun, with the Road Transport Department informing the public that the last day for renewal will be midnight on Tuesday, 11 March 2025.

The Department said vehicle licences can be renewed for a period of three, six, nine, and twelve months.

For renewals made after 11 March, a charge will be imposed. For the renewal of the registration, an MOT certificate and valid insurance are necessary.

The Department said that those who had renewed the vehicle registration for the year 2024 but do not intend to renew it for the year 2025 must submit a notification for vehicle immobilisation. The immobilisation can also be done online on the department’s website (https://rtd.mcw.gov.cy).
