President convening meeting on the port of Larnaca

President Nikos Christodoulides has convened a meeting on the subject of the port of Larnaca, at the Presidential Palace.

The meeting, which is set to begin at 10am on 7 January, under the chairmanship of the President, will be attended by the Mayor of Larnaca, the President of the CCCI and the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works Alexis Vafeades.

Asked about the meeting at the Presidential Palace, on the sidelines of the celebration of Epiphany in Ayia Napa, Vafeades on 6 January said that it is a meeting organised by the President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides and that representatives from Larnaca will participate, with the discussion concerning the future of the city's port.

He stated that "what concerns us and what is our priority is what is good for Larnaca and for Cyprus in general."

"This is our priority and with this in mind we make any decisions," he noted, adding that "we have no prejudices regarding this issue and we are open to any discussion as long as it serves the good of Larnaca and the good of Cyprus," the Minister said.
