Kazakhstan's decision to open an Embassy in Nicosia in the near future and the appointment of an Ambassador has been welcomed by Cyprus.

This was reflected during a meeting between the Permanent Secretary of the Cyprus Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Andreas Kakouris, and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Kazakhstan, Roman Vassilenko, in the capital of Kazakhstan, Astana.

According to a press release by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, during the Second Round of Political Consultations, the results of the agreements reached during the First Round of Political Consultations were assessed, while the progress made so far in the implementation of the Agreements signed during the last year was also reviewed.
