Cyprus FM participates in tripartite meeting in New York with Greek, Egyptian counterparts

Cyprus’ Foreign Minister, Constantinos Kombos, participated in a tripartite meeting with his Greek and Egyptian counterparts in New York where they discussed the latest developments in the region, among other things.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kombos on 24 September participated in the tripartite meeting of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus-Egypt-Greece, held on Tuesday in New York, on the sidelines of the High-Level Week of the 79th UN General Assembly.

During the meeting with the Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Badr Abdelatty, and Greece, George Gerapetritis, it said, “the level of tripartite cooperation was reviewed in various fields, such as energy, security and diaspora issues.”

“The Foreign Ministers discussed the latest worrying developments in the region and prepared the 10th High-Level Summit, which is expected to take place in Egypt in 2024”, it added.

It is noted that, after the tripartite meeting, a bilateral meeting was held between Kombos and his Egyptian counterpart, during which bilateral cooperation and ways of deepening the Cyprus-Egypt strategic relationship were discussed.
