Trade deficit down by 17% due to decline in value of imports

Cyprus’ trade deficit dropped by 17% to €4.31 billion for the period of January to July compared to €5.19 billion in the respective period of last year, according to preliminary data published by CySTAT.

According to CySTAT, total imports of goods in January–July 2024 amounted to €6.619.1 mn compared to €7,597.2 mn in January–July 2023, recording a decrease of 129%.

Total exports of goods in January-July 2024 were down by 3.8% year on year to €2,311.3 mn in January-July 2023 compared to €2,403.3 mn in the respective period of last year, CySTAT added.
